Toothpaste Tips
What kind of toothpaste?
How much toothpaste?
A pea sized drop for kids
3 years old and older
Just a smear for kids
3 years old and younger
The American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry strongly encourage brushing with a fluoride toothpaste. Fluoride kills bacteria that cause cavities AND rebuilds tooth structure that has been damaged by bacteria.
We understand some parents have concerns about their children swallowing too much fluoride. It is true that swallowing too much toothpaste can cause short and long term problems.
However, when used appropriately the benefits of fluoride far
exceed the risks.
A pea sized drop is plenty of toothpaste for older kids and grown ups too
